About
the
Program
The Tower Music Series is a musical program founded to make the musical arts more accessible to members of our community by presenting a variety of quality musical programs in a friendly setting at an affordable price. Mindful of the need to give back to our community, the program places an emphasis on presenting local musicians in our concerts, although we do occasionally present noted musicians from outside the Hudson Valley.
All concerts are performed at the Reformed Church in Poughkeepsie, a magnificent space designed by Charles Collens, the architect of Riverside Church, the Cloisters museum, and Thompson Memorial Library at Vassar College. Many of our concerts showcase the Reformed Church's Schantz pipe organ, considered by area organists to be one of the best instruments of its kind in the Hudson Valley.
The music we present in the Tower Music Series tends towards the various forms of classical music, ranging from Baroque to Romantic to modern Contemporary, but Jazz, Folk, and Celtic music has also be performed as part of the Series.
We present our concerts for a free-will offering of $15 instead of charging a strict admission fee.
